Delay-free variometer
Conventional variometers have the disadvantage that climb and sink rates are always displayed with a more or less significant time delay. The Mini V combines data from various sensors using a complex mathematical process, eliminating this time delay. Thanks to the instantaneous display of climb/sink rates, finding and centering thermals with a Mini V is much easier than with a conventional variometer.
And you can adjust the tones of the variometer however you like; please use the tone simulator for this.
Further information
GPS logger
The XC Tracer Mini V simultaneously records IGC and KML files; the IGC files are recognized by the FAI for paragliding competitions. And you can view the KML files directly on Google Earth.
Excellent autonomy
Don't be surprised if you never have to recharge the vario during an entire season! The vario has a built-in lithium-polymer battery that, when fully charged, provides approximately 30 hours of continuous operation, including FLARM and FANET operation, data transmission via BLE, and recording of IGC and KML files. However, since the battery recharges during flight via the integrated solar cells, its autonomy is virtually unlimited. The battery can also be recharged via the included USB-C cable if needed.
Safety first
The Mini V features built-in FLARM and FANET to help prevent collisions. Want to know where your buddies are? If you have a smartphone with a compatible app, that's no problem. The app receives your buddies' FANET position signals via your Mini V's Bluetooth channel and displays them on your phone. Some apps even let you send text messages to your buddies via Bluetooth and FANET. Naturally, your own Mini V also continuously transmits your position via FANET and FLARM. Along with the XC Tracer Maxx II, the Mini V is one of the few variometers worldwide certified to the stringent FCC criteria.
In the worst-case scenario, if a buddy doesn't show up in the evening, you can check your smartphone app to see where their vario last sent a FANET signal from. If the app supports this, you'll find latitude, longitude, altitude, and status. This information can be very helpful in locating a missing paraglider pilot.
Bluetooth
The XC Tracer Mini V is equipped with a BLE 4.2 module (Bluetooth Low Energy). This allows you to connect your app (see list) on your Android / iOS / e-reader to the Vario via BLE.
Simply
One button and that's it. The button is used to turn the device on and off and to change the volume from 0 (no sound) to 4 (loud).
The variometer is configured via an intuitive text file. If you have a problem with the variometer or don't know how to configure something, please read here.
flight log
We recommend LogFly software as a flight log. Intuitive and compatible with XC Tracer, LogFly automates everything and provides a wealth of interesting information and statistics.
